Delivery and installation are different services, and what the big retailers include varies by appliance and by day. Very often they will set the box in the kitchen, and connecting it to water, power or the vent is either extra or not offered at all. Read what you actually paid for. If it says delivery only, book us for the same afternoon and the machine is running that day.

Three numbers and a path. The width of the opening at its narrowest point, which is rarely the front. The depth from the back wall to the front of the cabinets, including the countertop overhang. The height, remembering that someone may have tiled the floor since the cabinets went in. Then walk the route from the front door: doorways, a turn at the top of a stair, a gate that does not open wide enough.

On request, and it is worth saying so when you book rather than when we arrive, because it changes what has to fit in the van. The disconnect and the removal happen on the same visit as the install. If the retailer has already agreed to take it on delivery, let them, and we do the hookup once they have gone.

Those closets are a puzzle of their own. Doors that will not clear the machine, a vent that turns twice before it reaches the wall, and a pan that has to sit under a stack you cannot get behind. We measure the closet, not just the machine. Where the vent run is too long or crushed, we will tell you, since that is what makes a dryer take three cycles to do one load.
